Hadaki

The Hadaki are a human species native to the harsh northeast mountains of Calinthia. For centuries, they lived in isolation, hidden from the outside world. However, discovering the rare and valuable mineral MIRA brought them into the sights of the Duxa Empire, who annexed their capital and colonized their people seventy-one years ago.
Adapted to their rugged environment, the Hadaki have mastered mountain survival. Their capital, Tirros, is a vast subterranean city carved deep into the rock, consisting of winding staircases, underground courtyards, and intricate tunnels. Renowned for their craftsmanship, underground navigation, and deep-mining expertise, the Hadaki possess the unique knowledge necessary to extract MIRA—a skill coveted by the Duxa. With MIRA becoming even more valuable after the collapse of Tyrrha's ecosystems, Hadaki’s mining operations became a key target for the Empire.
The Hadaki are spiritually connected to the Thryssal, a mythical source deep within the mountains. They believe all their people come from, and will return to, this sacred place—a belief that binds them together. Despite the Duxa’s efforts to suppress religious practices, the Hadaki’s sense of community and unity remains their greatest strength and a persistent threat to the Empire’s rule. Their enduring connection and organisation into Families fuels their resistance, positioning them as the central protagonists in the struggle for freedom and self-determination.
