The game emphasizes strategy, skillful combat, and rich storytelling, providing an immersive and thrilling experience for all players."

Extraction Looter

For those unfamiliar, an extraction looter game is a genre where players venture into perilous environments to collect valuable items and must successfully reach an extraction point within a set timeframe to secure their loot. The high-risk, high-reward nature of the game hinges on the tension between exploring for resources and the ever-present danger of losing everything upon death or time expiration. In Chains of War, we've implemented several mechanics to capture this essence:

  1. Secure Extraction of Items: Items stored in your backpack and equipped on your character are only secured once you successfully extract. If you die or fail to extract before the timer runs out, you lose these items.

  2. Vault System for Safe Storage: a vault where players can store items they wish to keep safe indefinitely.

  1. Quest Completion Mechanics: Extraction isn't just about loot; it's also tied to quest progression. Successfully extracting completes relevant quests, adding depth to the gameplay.

  2. Mechanics Centered Around Timely Extraction: The core mechanics are entirely built around the concept that success is defined by extracting within the allotted time frame. This principle adds urgency and strategic planning to every session. Overcoming technical hurdles to make this system robust was essential for maintaining the game's integrity and player satisfaction.
