# Alpha

Chains of War, an innovative Free-to-Play Fantasy RPG Extraction Looter (FREL) game, can now be wishlisted on the Epic Games Store. Currently in development using Unreal Engine 5 and incorporating blockchain technology, Chains of War© offers a fresh gaming experience by blending fantasy with the popular extraction looter genre.

On November 29 the Closed Alpha for Chains of War was released on [Epic Games](https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/chains-of-war-bd5b0b), the platform for 270 million PC players. This early iteration of the game offers a first look at the world of Tyrrha, the factions, and our unique take on the extraction looter genre. Here's everything you need to know about the Alpha release:

### Closed Alpha

First and foremost, this is an Alpha version—a work in progress. The Closed Alpha is the first phase in testing through a rough first version to gather feedback for further game development. Here’s what will be included:

* A World to Explore: A detailed map filled with hidden treasures, thrilling challenges, and the lore of Tyrrha. Players can experience gameplay as one of the four core factions.
* Single-Player Experience: The multiplayer mode is still under development, so this release focuses on single-player gameplay only.
* Blockchain Features Disabled: To ensure security, prevent vulnerabilities, and create a more approachable product for traditional audiences, blockchain elements will remain inactive until the final product launch.
* Core Mechanics in Action: Looting, quest completion, and the all-important extraction systems will be at the forefront. Every decision you make—when to fight, loot, or extract—will carry weight.

Participation in the Closed Alpha is exclusive to:

* Backers
* Official testers
* Content creators

### Early Access

As we move toward Early Access, expect significant enhancements and new features. The Early Access build will include:

* Mounts Unlocked: Experience the full roster of mounts, adding a new layer of strategy and excitement to exploration.
* Improved Gameplay: Feedback from the Alpha phase will guide us in refining mechanics, balancing combat, and addressing any issues to deliver a smoother experience.
* Marketplace Introduction: Dive into the in-game economy with the debut of a functional marketplace for trading gear, mounts, and collectables.
* And More: Additional updates and surprises will be announced as we approach Early Access.
